Why join Northholm in Year 11?

Choosing a school for Years 11 and 12, especially changing schools, is a significant decision. It is a time when students are preparing for the HSC, considering future pathways and developing the habits, confidence and independence that will carry them beyond school.

At Northholm Grammar School, the senior Secondary Years offer a learning environment shaped by high expectations, academic rigour and genuine care for each student. Here, motivated learners are encouraged to work purposefully and take ownership of their learning, supported by quality teachers and caring mentors who understand both the demands of the HSC and the importance of pastoral attentiveness.

This balance is reflected in Northholm’s outstanding 2025 HSC results. The Class of 2025 ranked 37th in New South Wales in the Sydney Morning Herald school ranking, positioning Northholm as the highest performing independent, co-educational school in the Hills District. These results also continued Northholm’s sustained academic consistency, with the School ranked in the top 45 schools in NSW for the past three consecutive years.

The depth of achievement across the 2025 cohort further reflects the strength of Northholm’s learning culture. Of the 50 students in the cohort, 18% achieved an ATAR of 95 or above, 45% achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, 31 students achieved at least one Band 6 or E4 result, and 78% of all examinations achieved a Band 5 or above.

For students joining Northholm for Year 11, the experience is shaped by a culture of focused effort, academic discipline, critical inquiry and challenging coursework. The HSC journey is demanding, but students are supported to approach it with confidence and a clear sense of direction. Students are also given a range of opportunities in co-curricular endeavours, leadership and service activities, allowing them to pursue the interests and talents most important to them.

In 2027, Northholm will offer an additional Academic Scholarship round for students entering Year 11. This scholarship recognises students with a demonstrated history of outstanding academic excellence who are ready to embrace the opportunities of Northholm’s senior Secondary program.

For students seeking an environment where they will be challenged to excel, motivated to achieve and supported to reach their potential, there is no better place to flourish than Northholm.

Applications are now open and close on Wednesday 5 August.
