Sporting Excellence at Northholm

Northholm Grammar students continue to thrive in their endeavours as they make the most of the many sporting opportunities the School has to offer – both in team and individual events. Motivated to achieve their personal best and determined to succeed, our Primary and Secondary students are to be commended on their outstanding results.

We would like to acknowledge and congratulate the following students in their pursuit for excellence:

Tiana Roberts (Year 6) recently competed in the All-Schools Fencing competition. She placed second in the Intermediate Sabre Girls, a Division in which she competed largely against High School students. We commend her on this fabulous result.

Jett Watkin (Year 6) was selected in the Primary Combined Independent Schools (CIS) Rugby League team. We wish him luck in the Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) Championships in June.

Lilly (Year 6), Ben (Year 7) and Max Zollinger (Year 9) have all been selected in to represent New South Wales in the State Team at the 2022 Judo Nationals in June on the Gold Coast.

Isabelle Davis (Year 7) has been selected to play in the North West Sydney Hockey Association Under 13 years Representative Team. Her team will play at the State Championships in Bathurst, 8th to 10th of July 2022. Chloe Fader (Year 10) has also been selected in the North West Sydney Girls Hockey Team, in the Under 15s Representative Team. She will compete in the Under 15s State Representative Tournament in May at Parkes, NSW.

In April, Sam Shepherd (Year 10) competed at the 2022 Australian Age Swimming Championships in Adelaide, swimming in the 14-15 Years Backstroke Medley Relay. The Relay Team came 11th in Australia — a wonderful result. Sam swam a Personal Best of 29.91 seconds in his 50m backstroke leg.

In equestrian, Jessica Callus (Year 10), Lucinda O’Brien (Year 9) and Alexa Garcia (Year 4) have achieved outstanding results across many individual events. These students compete and perform at a high level and they are to be applauded for their commitment, discipline and grit.
