SECONDARY MATHEMATICS TEACHER
Full-time permanent position commencing Term 1, 2021.
We are currently seeking an engaging and experienced Mathematics Teacher to join our secondary teaching team from the start of Term 1, 2021. Experience in teaching Stage 6 Mathematics is essential and experience teaching Mathematics Extension 1 would be an advantage.
The successful candidate must have a commitment to academic excellence and be able to demonstrate their capacity to deliver a rigorous senior program.
Key Responsibilities include:
- experience in teaching Stage 4 – 6 Mathematics courses with experience in Mathematics Extension I
- contributing and supporting the strategic development of STEM education
- willingness to use student data effectively to inform teaching
- a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- the ability to support and contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular program
This position reports to the Head of STEM and ultimately the Principal.
Applicants should possess the following:
- Accredited 4 years of study at a recognised university or higher education institution in relevant
subject/s with a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), or a combined or double degree such as a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Secondary) OR
- Undergraduate degree (such as a Bachelor of Arts) and then complete an accredited graduate
entry teaching degree (such as a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) or Master of Teaching (Secondary).
- Strong and supportive leadership style with clear expectations for all members of the team.
- Outstanding background as a Mathematics teacher in in the Stage 4-6 curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at the level required of all school staff.
