Secondary Chemistry Teacher

Northholm Grammar is currently seeking an innovative and experienced Chemistry Teacher to join our secondary teaching team from the start of 2021. The successful candidate must have a commitment to excellence and be able to demonstrate their capacity to deliver a rigorous senior program.

The successful applicant will:

  • have experience in teaching Stage 6 Chemistry as well as Stage 4 and 5 Science
  • have a strong understanding of the Chemistry syllabus
  • be willing to use student data effectively to inform teaching
  • be able to contribute to the strong academic culture of the school environment
  • have a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • be able to support the School’s Christian ethos

You will need:

  • A degree with accredited four years of study at a recognised university or higher education institution in relevant Science subjects
  • High expectations for the learning and achievements of students
  • Professional presentation and conduct
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A strong work ethic
  • Engaging personality and an ability to deal with students from a wide range of backgrounds

Basketball Coordinator

Northholm Grammar is currently seeking for an experienced and qualified Basketball Coordinator to commence in January 2021. The successful candidate will oversee the Northholm Basketball program. This role requires the candidate to build a strong relationship with the Northholm Basketball teams, parents and supporters to ensure the continued growth of the program at all levels.

This is a casual role with the view of a Permanent Part-Time role.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coaching representative teams in Hill Zone Sports Association competition in Term 1 and Term 2
  • Coaching school teams in the Hills Hornets weekly club competition in both summer and winter seasons
  • Implement suitably appropriate training sessions for a range of skill levels
  • Training teams during school hours
  • General team administration involving recording attendance at games and training
  • Management of teams
  • Regular reporting to Northholm Grammar Sport and Coaching Coordinator

 What do you need to succeed?

  • Club Level (Level 1) NCAS Coaching Accreditation
  • Basketball coaching experience at pre-elite or elite levels
  • A valid Working with Children Check
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Can work Monday to Friday afternoons and evenings for training/coaching and games
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Engaging personality and an ability to deal with students from a wide range of backgrounds

Primary Years Classroom Teacher 

Northholm Grammar is seeking a talented and highly innovative teacher with proven ability to operate effectively within a team environment. The successful applicant must be a student-centred, dynamic, enthusiastic and collegial educator. They must have a commitment to ensuring students develop strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, while still encouraging independent research through integrated programs of inquiry.

Teachers are required to work collaboratively with parents and each other to provide a supportive environment where students can develop their areas of strength while embracing new and exciting opportunities. Emphasis is placed on the development of positive relationships and the promotion of sound values.

Experience teaching Years 4 – 6 is an advantage.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create a learning environment that stimulates interest and purposeful learning,
  • Develop a clear and comprehensive course of instruction that aligns with curriculum objectives, as well as progressing the learning of all students,
  • Develop challenging learning activities,
  • Actively engage students in the learning process,
  • Fully utilise a wide variety of teaching resources and technologies available within the School community,
  • Engage students in assessment and evaluation processes and techniques,
  • Actively engage with students and their families in relation to student learnings and performance,
  • Actively engage with pastoral and other co-curricular activities, including rostered supervisory duties around the School grounds,
  • Actively engage in Whole Staff Professional Learning Days, to develop professionally with colleagues, receive consistent and up-to-date training regarding education,
  • Other duties as required by the Principal.
