Pastoral Care of Students
Northholm aims to provide effective guidance for the personal development of each individual. Pastoral care relates to academic, spiritual, emotional and physical welfare and is the responsibility of every member of the staff:
- To ensure that every student is known very well by at least one member of staff and that there is one adult within the School in whom the individual can confide.
- To make regular appraisals of individuals in an attempt to pre-empt and avert crises in academic and social development, and to oversee the students' academic progress.
- Where necessary, to provide a point of reference for external agencies engaged in counselling, assessment and family support.
- To seek out, make known and develop special interests and aptitudes which may not emerge through the academic program.
