The Independent Learning Centre
The Independent Learning Centre consists of a team of people working together to diversify and individualise programs for students. Its aim is to address individual needs, make learning accessible for all students and to challenge students in a variety of ways.
Any student in the school can use the ILC for any number of reasons. ILC staff work in classrooms, team teaching or with groups and individuals, focusing particularly on:
- Specific skills areas such as reading, writing, numeracy and researching
- Study skills
- "Think Smart" strategies
- Mentoring
- Essential vocabulary, text types and other academic support material
- Special Examination Provisions
- Modifying, extending, differentiating, individualising and nurturing our students
